2. The students will analyze the prologue of Romeo and Juliet.
3. The students will speculate about how the feud between the Montagues and Capulet could have begun.

Essential Questions
1.Why would an author choice to divulge (reveal) the ending of his or her piece at the beginning? What benefits could this technique have? Think about books, movies, and other media that use this technique.

Prologue Activity

2. As a group, students will speculate about how the feud between the Capulets and Montegues began.
3. Students must create something representing how they believe the feud began. Suggetions: Comic Strip, Picture Book,
4. Groups should keep the time period in mind while creating their story. While this is an opportunity for the students to be creative, their stories should not include flying cars or other anachronisms.
5. The instructor should circulate around the classroom monitoring the student productivity.
6. The educator will place a timer on overhead/TV for all to see how much time remains.
5. The teacher will then call on each group and ask them to share their story.

Assessments:
The students will be assessed by the theories they create about how the feud between the Capulets and Montagues began.
